Wilderness survival tactics

We as the human race have become so accustomed to the comforts in life. Technology rules everything that we do, and most of us are lucky enough to come home to a warm and comfortable environment.  Regardless of all that, life can be unpredictable and it’s important to be able to prepare for any situation that may arise, one of them being, surviving in the wild.

Whether you are an avid camper or maybe you have had some car troubles and are now stuck in the middle of nowhere. These survival tactics should help you to plan your next steps:

Stay calm

It’s easy to freak out and start thinking about the worst possible situations. That won’t help you to deal with the problem at hand. You need to be able to think calmly and rationally.

Build a fire

This is an important step, make sure to gather materials that may be suited for a fire, such as dry wood, branches, and moss. If you are lucky to have a lighter or matches, that’s great! If not, you can also use a magnifying glass to divert the sun to start a fire, as well as steel and flint or even your car battery.    survival tactics

Build a shelter

Especially if you are in an area with intense heat or cold. For the first situation, make sure to find some shelter from the sun, a fallen tree, or using sticks or branches to build a simple shelter. You can also cover that with moss and other greenery that you can find.

Find clean water

This is a big one, make sure that you are able to boil whatever water that you can find to kill off any pathogens. You can also collect rainwater or melt snow.

Hopefully, these tips will give you an idea of what to do, if you are ever faced with a situation like that.
